No one can succeed without strength.

‘The LORD God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds' feet, and he will make me walk on my high places.’

Habakkuk 3:19

When King David needed to win, he strengthened himself in the presence of the Lord. David encouraged himself in the Lord his God in 1 Sam 30:6.

​

Daniel prayed 3 times a day even when it was against the law. He was arrested and thrown into the lion’s den. However, Daniel was confident that God would be his protector. He slept all night with the lions and walked out unharmed, displaying great strength in adversity.

 

When our strength is in God, we can overcome any obstacle that comes our way. Isaiah 30:15

• Strength keeps you from perverting your purpose 

• Strength produces inner confidence

• Strength produces inner peace

 

If you are going through a season of pain, sorrow or loss, do what David did. Encourage yourself with God’s word and remember that your strength comes from the Lord. Phil. 4:13

The Psalmist says ‘They go from strength to strength until each appears before God in Zion. Ps. 84:7

 

The Lord will give strength to His people. He makes us strong and gives us peace. Psalm 29:11

He gives strength:

• Physical 

• Emotional 

• Spiritual 

• Supernatural

 

The Lord gives strength to the weak, to those have no might, He increases strength. 

As we aged, we may not be as strong as in our 40’s. But the Lord will give us strength. Like Caleb at 85, ‘I am still as strong today as the day Moses sent me out. I am as vigorous to go out to battle now as I was with them.’ Josh.14:11

Caleb followed the Lord whole heartedly. He kept wanting what God wants, willing what God willed. And so in doing what God wants, he continued into old age to be God’s vessel.

Isaiah 40:29-31 is powerful, ‘He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength. Even the youth shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall. But those who wait on the LORD shall renewed their strength.’ 

​

These verses say, even the youth and the young can grow tired and weary. They need to renew their strength. And those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint.

​

As believers, young or old, we must learn to wait on the person of the Holy Spirit. Is in the waiting, there is strength and power. This is so important that you wait on the Holy Spirit, for your life and also for your ministry.
