A New Awakening under Open Heaven

When Intercession Breaks Through!

 

Isaiah 64:1-4

1 Oh, that You would rend the heavens! That You would come down! 

That the mountains might shake at Your presence. 

2 As fire burns brushwood, As fire causes water to boil—
To make Your name known to Your adversaries,
That the nations may tremble at Your presence!
3 When You did awesome things for which we did not look, You came down,
The mountains shook at Your presence.
4 For since the beginning of the world Men have not heard nor perceived by the ear,
Nor has the eye seen any God besides You, Who acts for the one who waits for Him.

 

1.  God desires in this new season “A Fresh Awakening”

 

The cry of Isaiah was evident of fresh awakening: “Oh, that You would rend the heavens! v.1
He was hungry for God to manifest His presence in a powerful way. He said in v.3: “When You did awesome things for which we did not look..” This is the perfect description of a new awakening of revival. He expected the unpredictable, unusual and uncommon. And so must we!

 

2.  Waiting on the Lord precedes this new spiritual awakening

 

The prayer of Isaiah, 'Oh, that You would rend the heavens! v.1

Here he was praying that God would come down with earth shaking manifestation. Isaiah 64: 4 gives us some clue for the spiritual awakening. God acts for the one who 'waits' for Him. We need to 'wait' on the Lord for Him to manifest His presence. To wait on the Lord means to go about the routines of life with a fervent, patience with hope that He  will manifest Himself. It is putting confidence in Him that He will deal with the evil and that the mountains will shake at His presence.

 

It is an inner attitude that will give us strength to rise above our circumstances with new strength to go on further in this new season. 'But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.' Isaiah 40:31
 

How to prepare for this new seson of awakening

 

It is important that we pray that God will prepare us for an awesome visitation of the Holy Spirit. 

                                

We will need to pray that we will have understanding of the ways of the Spirit and will make room for Him. We aslo need to allow ourselves to be made into the Lord's threshing sledges so that we can crush the obstacles that we face. 'See, I will make you into a threshing sledge, new and sharp, with many teeth. You will thresh the mountains and crush them, and reduce the hills to chaff.'  Isaiah 41:15

Finally we need to be sensitive and flexible to flow with the new thing God wants to do in our life. 'Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring   forth I tell you of them.' Isaiah 42:9
 

As we prepare for the dawn of the New Year, may we expect the miraculous, awaiting on Him and allowing the Lord to do something new in our lives.
